This exhibition features media artworks by two groups of artists from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands and is part of a year-long project called Physical Intersections Digital Collaborations (PIDC), presented in collaboration with Xchanges and the Victoria Arts Council.

The first exhibition in the series will be works by Richard and Susy Raxlen, presented in FLUX Gallery from October 21 to November 5. There will be a reception with the artists from 4 -6pm on November 21.

We will be showing Regardo by Susy Raxlen, and several works by Richard Raxlen, including We Mammals Pushy, Geometry of Beware and more.

Digital Moment, from March 26 to May 21, 2021 at FLUX Media Gallery in Victoria, BC, showcases a series of short films by artists, GO2 Productions, Allison Moore, Johanna Householder and Judith Price, and June Yeo, as well as CG sequitors and on-site art installation by Alicia Lawrence. This selection of Canadian short films attempts to respond to the questions, How does film mediate the online digital environment? and What is our social relationship to digital interactivity?

FLUX Window Gallery presents: “Angel Food: Images Of Cakes and Nudes From A Bygone Era”, an exhibition of vintage slide and snapshot images videotaped by Adair Brouwer and Rosemary Sleigh.

FLUX Online presents two films, "Bialy" by Judith Price, and "All That Remains" by Grace Salez.

“The Brand New Triathlon” is a 2003 film by Rick Raxlen, an experimental animation that uses rotoscope; shot on 16 mm, Rick worked with Gilbert Taggart as his cameraman.

FLUX online presents Gemini, two video works by artist Lindsay Delaronde. The videos will be on our website (www.fluxmediagallery.org) for two weeks, from May 30 to June 13. Gemini is a performance that expresses archetypal aspects of human personality, bringing subconscious material into fruition through performative gestures and actions.

This series of fragments appear to have been made on Vancouver Island between 1929 and 1949. They were found in a stack of film canisters in the cellar of Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria BC. (Part of the feature length “Widdershins” film by Andrew Struthers)
